This review will be about both seasons of Code Geass

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ Kōdo Giasu: Hangyaku no Rurūshu), often referred to as simplyCode Geass, is a Japanese anime series created by Sunrise, directed by Gorō Taniguchi, and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, with original character designs by Clamp.

Code Geass first ran in Japan on MBS from October 5, 2006, to July 28, 2007. Its sequel series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 (コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュR2 Kōdo Giasu Hangyaku no Rurūshu Āru Tsū), ran on MBS and TBS from April 6, 2008 to September 28, 2008. Both seasons have won several awards at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, Animage Anime Grand Prix, andAnimation Kobe event.

Synopsis:

The series is set after Japan’s conquest by the Holy Britannian Empire on August 10, 2010, a.t.b. with their powerful new robot weapons, the Knightmare Frames, stripping Japan and its citizens of all rights and freedoms and renaming the country Area 11. The titular Lelouch is a Britannian prince who was disowned by his father, Emperor Charles zi Britannia, after his mother was murdered, and has vowed to kill his father, the Emperor, and destroy Britannia. He gains an ability through the mysterious power of the Geass, becoming the leader of the resistance movement to fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister Nunnally can live happily.

My review:

One of the most awesome and epic anime I’ve watched.The storyline is purely made of epic and if I could relate this to any other anime, I would say it is really related to Death Note. The protagonish,Lelouch is like a reincarnation of Light Yagami as they both had the same evil genius scheming minds to achieve their goals without ever giving up.

Lelouch manages his personal army, the Order of the Black Knights to defeat the Holy Britannian Empire with purely genius and strategic plans. He commands his army just like in a RTS game,with the no Fog of War cheat enabled as he is able to predict his enemy’s movement and devises a genius plan to pwn all of them,in one move.

Oh and lets not forget the plot twist.Well when Lelouch’s plan are going according to keikaku,and suddenly there is a surprise that adds a really suspense element to the storyline.The only anime that I found with the same epic full of suspense storyline is Death Note, of course.

Oh and about the storyline.It is purely epic in every way.Perhaps more epic than Death Note.And not just that, the mecha battle is awesome as well. My favourite mecha is the Guren which is piloted by Kallen Kohzuki, and whats makes the mecha awesome is that it is equipped with a deadly arm than can blast radiation wave from it.Its like punching your enemies with a nuclear blast.

Well nothing much to say about the opening and ending songs for this anime series.It is pretty ordinary for a normal anime.

Storyline: 9000/10

Action: 9/10

Character design : 8.5/10

Animation quality : 9/10

Overall : 10/10

Should there be a new season? : No.The ending is perfect enough.But I would like to see an alternate storyline for it.

Rewatch? : Yesh.

A compilation of the TV series, Eden of The East Compilation: Air Communication, had a limited theatrical release on September 26, 2009. Two other theatrical films have also been released. Eden of the East Movie I: The King of Eden was released in Japan on November 28, 2009 and the second movie, Eden of the East the Movie II: Paradise Lost, was released on March 13, 2010.The TV series and all three films have been licensed for release in North America by Funimation Entertainment.

Synopsis:

On November 22, 2010, ten missiles strike against uninhabited areas of Japan, claiming no victims. This apparent terrorist act is referred to as “Careless Monday” and disregarded by most people. The series begins three months later, with a young Japanese woman named Saki Morimi visiting Washington D.C. as part of her graduation trip. When she gets into trouble, a mysterious Japanese man, who introduces himself as Akira Takizawa, helps her through it. The man appears to have no memory and is completely naked, carrying only a gun and a cell phone charged with 8.2 billion yen in digital money. While they are coming back to Japan, they learn that a new missile has hit their country.

My review:

Quite an interesting anime with an original storyline.The plot has a really nice suspense and mystery to it. It basically tells the story of the 12 persons in Japan selected to save Japan and they were given 10 billion yen of digital money through their phone, the Noblesse Oblige which also can be used to basically do anything,yes anything they want with their money by contacting Juiz,which is just like their own personal assistant.Any orders can be given to Juiz to be carried out,for example escaping from any crime,owning a 5-star hotel suite,or even assassination.

The bad thing is that the series only have 11 episodes and only 2 movies.The anime series tells the story of how Takizawa Akira lost his memory and the truth about the Careless Monday incident,and also serves like an introduction for the 2 movies.

The Opening and Ending song is really awesome.The Opening song is Falling Down from Oasis and the ending is Futuristic Animation by School Food Punishment. The ending song’s animation is my favourite part since it uses stop-motion style animation.Well its better if you just watch it.

Storyline : 9/10

Comedy : 7.5/10

Should there be a new season? : FUKEN YES!!

Rewatch? : Yes.

Straight to the point,I’m enjoying my 2 weeks semester break and is now very lazy to update my blog.As the title says,this is a quick update.Here’s what I did the past few weeks ago.

M92 gathering at KLCC,went there with KazamaKuroo and Mokhzani with LRT.Had a good time there.

Finished MGS Peace Walker.It is even better than MPO and MPO+.Oh and there’s also some contents from Monster Hunter and Assassin Creed in this game.This is the first Metal Gear Solid game with only mechas and wyverns as bosses.

-Finished watching Eden of the East and Code Geass(R1 and R2).Will now begin watching Angel Beats,Macross Frontier and Witchblade, and if possible,Kamen Rider Decade.

P/S:

So as you guys know Spain just beaten Netherlands by 1-0 in the World Cup finals.Unlike most of you who supported Spain just because an octopus predicted it, I actually supported Netherlands to win in the World Cup finals.What surprises me is that after the match ended, I see that mostly everyone just started supporting Spain.Well WTF was that? For some weird reason EVERYONE is now a Spain supporter.What a bunch of glory hunters.Pfftt.

I actually hoped that Netherlands won against Spain in that match.I kinda hoped that Paul the Magical Octopus would lose his prediction streak in the final of the world cup.That way I can see Paul served in a lunch at a fancy dinner soon,and also the face of the people who just loses all their money betting for Spain.Well in the end Paul’s prediction is correct after all,eh?

One thing about that match is that Netherlands were really rough with Spain.If you watched it then you could see Netherlands players literally beating the crap out of Spain players.Especially De Jong, he really gives an epic kick Xabi Alonso on that match.

Anyway enough of my rants about the World Cup finals.Its sad that Germany didn’t make it.And I’m not really a dedicated soccer fan so I won’t do a very detailed review of the match.Go read a sports blog or something for that.
